Feature Concrete

Feature concrete becomes joinery, furniture or a focal part of the architecture. Blackform delivers cast-in-place and precast concrete benches, vanity tops, stairs, landings, fireplaces, outdoor elements and feature columns. We resolve dimensions, edge profile, thickness, support, reinforcement, penetrations, services, joints and installation before forming, coordinating with the architect, builder, engineer, cabinetmaker and adjoining trades.

The finish brief is set before production: off-form, honed or polished; colour and aggregate exposure; form-face or board texture; tie holes, arrises, sealers and sample requirements. Natural variation and achievable tolerances are recorded rather than promised away. Early buildability input is most valuable when the element is integrated with structure or services, because changes become limited once the concrete is placed.
